In the new logistics center of the fashion chain mister*lady, the focus was on a pleasant and functional indoor climate. The challenge:dust-free air for sensitive textiles, constant temperatures in all weather conditions and draught-free air distribution – in a hall area of over 4,500 m².
In addition, a ventilation function was to be integrated for the summer months – with the lowest possible energy consumption and low-maintenance operation.
The special conditions of the new building also had to be taken into account: Room heights of around 7.5 m, a volume of around 75,000 m³ and the intensive turnover of goods with around 15 million parts per year. Managing Director Rudolf Kempter attached great importance to the well-being of the employees – a uniform, dust-free and draught-free indoor climate was therefore essential. An innovative solution without radiant heating was deliberately chosen.
For the energy-efficient heating of the new building, LK Metall used four powerful RBW 125 hot air heaters, each with a heating capacity of 125 kW. The space-saving units installed under the hall roof were combined with return air ceiling fans and high-quality filtration equipment to effectively reduce dust pollution.
Targeted air routing, sensitive control technology and optimally positioned units ensure uniform heating without draughts – ideal for textile warehouses with changing temperature requirements.
The warm air heaters also use the waste heat rising in the hall, e.g. from lighting or solar radiation. This is filtered, heated and distributed draught-free via special outlets. An intelligent control system with PI differential temperature control ensures that the desired temperature in the work area is kept constant – efficiently and individually tailored to the needs of mister*lady.
The result: ideal indoor climate – summer and winter
The new heating solution was successfully installed in just five weeks. Since then, employees in the warehouse have benefited from a pleasant, uniform indoor climate that reliably protects them from the cold, dust and summer heat – with low maintenance requirements and high energy efficiency. The operating costs are also impressive: in the cold season, the average gas consumption is just 320 m³ per working day – that equates to around €80 in heating costs. The system is particularly efficient in the transitional period, when the available heat under the hall roof is sufficient and is evenly distributed by return air ceiling fans without the need for additional burners. Thanks to intelligent air routing, a pleasantly cool climate prevails even in summer – without the need for conventional air conditioning.
