IIn the course of commissioning a new machine, the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance had to be met – particularly with regard to noise protection at the workplace. The challenge was the cramped installation situation within the production hall. The noise protection had to be designed to save space, be quick to implement and at the same time be permanently robust. For a major customer from the construction sector – an internationally renowned construction company with over 6000 employees – LK Metallwaren therefore realized the complete enclosure of a particularly noise-intensive system. The measure not only enabled a significant reduction in noise levels, but also increased safety by creating a defined “safety zone” around the plant. This meant that the high standards of modern occupational health and safety could be met in the long term.
LK Metall designed a customized soundproofing system consisting of weather- and maintenance-resistant wall panels, a load-bearing steel construction frame and custom-made baffle plates for shielding. The installation was carried out inside the production hall – despite the limited space and ongoing operational processes. The construction meets all occupational safety requirements and was structurally adapted to ensure unrestricted access to machinery and infrastructure.
Thanks to close coordination with the customer and a flexible combination of standard and special components, the entire system was assembled on site and installed ready for operation in just two weeks. Even complex requirements such as protection zones or cabling were taken into account. The well thought-out implementation enabled a true-to-scale installation without any planning errors – further proof of the expertise and experience of the LK Metall fitters.
The result: efficient noise protection in record time
The design and manufacture of the system each took just one week, while assembly on site was completed within two weeks – on schedule, precisely and without interrupting production. Despite the complex structural conditions, particularly when setting up the protection zones and integrating a soundproof chamber, the fitters worked extremely efficiently. Thanks to close communication with the customer and the flexible use of both standardized and individually manufactured components, the enclosure was quickly adapted and handed over completely ready for operation. Today, the soundproofing solution ensures significantly improved working conditions and meets all regulatory requirements for machine integration – while also impressing with its functional, appealing design.
