Project management at the plant manufacturer
To equip newly designed drying ovens for surface drying in furniture production, a Westphalian plant manufacturer planned to supply energy-efficient air technology to North America.
The challenge: the air systems had to be precisely matched to the structural specifications of the customer’s facilities, operate energy-efficiently, deliver precise temperatures – and reliably withstand overseas export conditions.
In addition to technical efficiency, compact dimensions for installation in existing drying ovens and suitability for overseas export were decisive factors. The solution also had to provide energy-efficient heating – either directly or via hot water.
LK Metall has developed several LKPT compact systems that have been specially designed for this application. The systems have a flame tube with a heat shield, reach temperatures of up to +55 °C and convey an air volume flow of 20,000 m³/h.
Despite the specified installation dimensions, a powerful, directly heated air conditioning system was integrated. All systems were designed in accordance with the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and prepared for overseas shipment.
The result: customized technology for North America
Planning, design, production and shipping were completed in around a year. The customized LK systems now ensure reliable air flow in surface technology in the USA and Canada – another milestone for the successful export of industrial air technology “Made in Germany”.
Following the successful delivery of the first systems in 2023, further orders quickly followed – both for export systems overseas and for European projects. The high customer benefit, energy-efficient performance and precise implementation led to a long-term partnership with continuous follow-up volume.
