During the production of cardan shafts in the forging industry, large quantities of washing water contaminated with graphite and oil are produced – including from floor cleaning, machine sumps and used emulsions.
Previously, this wastewater was regularly collected by external disposal companies – with high running costs and increasing pressure from environmental authorities. The aim was to implement an economical solution that would meet the requirements of the authorities and enable independent on-site treatment.
Following extensive laboratory tests on the company’s own test stand, LK Metall developed a multi-stage solution for safe and efficient wastewater treatment.
The technical core components:
The entire system is designed for use in a flooded area and was installed elevated and dowelled to the ground.
The result: up to 80 % water recovery – permanently efficient
The treatment capacity is 6.5 m³ per day, with over 80 % of the raw water being recycled – only less than 20 % concentrate needs to be disposed of.
This not only saves the customer significant disposal costs, but also benefits from a centralized solution that replaces all previous individual systems.
Ultrafiltration with pretreatment
– Efficient oil-water separation with minimal effort
– Mobile and flexible for versatile locations
– Lower disposal costs thanks to longer use
– Environmentally friendly thanks to safe pollutant separation
