Successful delivery and integration of replacement combustion chambers
LK Metall was commissioned to supply and install replacement combustion chambers for an existing powder coating plant.
When looking to replace defective large combustion chambers, a renowned radiator manufacturer in Thuringia came across LK Metall and its expertise in combustion chamber production.
The order included the replacement or modification of two defective combustion chambers, which had to be replaced after more than six years of operation.
Requirements and challenges
The requirements for the project were demanding: combustion chambers had to be supplied that could be perfectly integrated into the existing housing of the system.
LK Metallwaren impressed with its technical expertise and ability to take into account the specific parameters of the plant.
A personal on-site appointment confirmed that, unlike other suppliers, LK Metallwaren was able to successfully take on the complex challenge.
Technical details
The new combustion chambers were designed for two different air volume flows:
- The first powder furnace in the heating zone requires an air volume flow of 67,400 Bm³/h at a temperature of over 230°C.
- The second oven in the holding zone requires an air volume flow of 94,800 Bm³/h.
Precise planning and design ensured that the new combustion chambers could be integrated into the existing duct system without any problems.
High-quality materials for maximum durability
In order to meet the demanding production conditions, LK Metallwaren opted for high-quality austenitic materials when manufacturing the combustion chambers.
These guarantee a particularly long service life and minimize future maintenance costs for the system.
